We are actually locals but I had several family members join us for a week's vacation. We spent a wonderful afternoon, snorkeling, dolphin watching and playing on a sandbar. The boat was completely covered to give relief from the sun. The crew was professional and very informative. The family was so excited to watch the dolphins and so the captain stayed with the dolphins for an extended time. Book with Honest Eco Tours - you won't be disappointed!   Boat where the locals boat!  I'm local to Key West and wanted to get my nephew out on the water during his visit.  Captain Mo, Mates Charlie & Mia hosted our experience; we saw lots of dolphins, snorkeled a more secluded reef and swam at a beautiful sandbar. Great Captain and Crew. Found a nice snorkeling reef on the leeward side of Key West. Moray Eel, Goliath Grouper, loads of Snapper and other tropicals. Nice Wade /Swim on a Sandbar. Boat; The Squid.  Capt. Noah and biologist Heather. What a wonderful way to spend our 40th Anniversary.  We went to a beautiful reef filled with sea life.  (Snorkeled) We saw Goliath Grouper, Eel, and colorful fish.  A large pod of Dolphins, and learned lots of eco facts from the crew.  Yummy snacks on board, everyone on the boat had a good time. I chose the 4hr dolphin, snorkeling, and sandbar adventure with Honest Eco bc they are environmentally conscious and also bc they are marine biologists - I felt I would learn the most about this fragile ecosystem on their tour. SQUID was a comfortable, stable vessel to be on. The captain and first mate did a great job explaining everything. We were surrounded by 270 degree rain and rain clouds, but the captain was determined to find a good place for us to snorkel, and she did! Dolphin watching and snorkeling were a lot of fun, and I'm certainly going to do that again. I wish I'd been told that I could use goggles to explore the creatures in the sand at the sandbar; we all just stood around and talked, and I didn't get the purpose of that. We had such an amazing experience on this dolphin watching and snorkeling tour in Key West! Seeing dolphins in their natural habitat was incredible, and we even got to see sharks, which made the experience even more exciting. The crew members were extremely knowledgeable and insightful throughout the entire trip and made us feel comfortable and informed. A special shoutout to Charlie, who was especially amazing and insightful and truly made the experience even more memorable! The dolphin watch and guided snorkel with Honest Eco was hands down the highlight of our entire Key West trip! My husband and I visited this past week and had the best time.  Charlie, Captain Noah, and Captain-in-Training Jordan were all so friendly, knowledgeable, and so much fun to spend the day with.  Charlie is a marine biologist and it was so clear how passionate all of the crew members are about what they do and how much they truly care about the dolphins, wildlife, and ecosystems. The boat was super comfortable and intimate with only 8 guests on our trip which made the whole day feel relaxed and personal.  Charlie also did a great job catering the day to what we wanted to see more as a group. This was such a fun, memorable experience and definitely something we’ll be talking about for a long time! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 200/10 — An absolutely AMAZING experience! We did the snorkel, dolphin watch, and sandbar excursion with Honest Eco in Key West, and Kristin and Heather were absolutely incredible! I truly cannot say enough good things about them or this experience. Their knowledge of the Keys, the ecosystem, marine life, and the area in general was amazing. They didn’t just take us out on the water — they taught us so much along the way, and their passion for what they do made the entire experience even better. We also got VERY lucky with the wildlife! While snorkeling, we saw several sharks, several stingray, tons of beautiful reef fish,  3 gigantic grouper, lobster, conch, and starfish. 🦈🐠🦞⭐️ We even got to see a couple of dolphins hunting in the harbor, which was incredible! This excursion was part of my birthday trip, and Kristin and Heather truly helped make my birthday unforgettable. They were fun, knowledgeable, welcoming, and genuinely seemed just as excited about everything we saw as we were. If you’re in Key West and considering an excursion with Honest Eco, BOOK IT. This is such an awesome company and experience!! We booked the Dolphin Watch/Reef Snorkel/Sandbar trip and it was so awesome we ended up booking another for our last day of the trip - the Sunset, Snorkel and Sandbar. We lucked out and had Capt Libbie and Charlie both times. They were such a professional but kind and knowledgeable crew!! Charlie is true biological nerd and was great at not only identifying everything on, above, and under the water, but he could talk at length about them all. That, combined with the small tour sizes really made it a different (and far better!) experience than the typical packed party boat excursions. The company also has awesome values! They've got reef safe mineral sunscreen on board. They have stopped to remove trash floating in the water. I've been on a few snorkeling trips over the years down here.  This was my favorite.  Hands down.  Favorite moment (seriously) was when a fellow snorkeler got in the water and came back to the boat breathless with anxiety - Captain Noah said: "No problem, Sarah will get in there with you."  And she did.  And the guy snorkeled.  The same more or less happened with me except that I felt so comfortable after witnessing that exchange that I felt almost zero anxiety when I got in.  Before we left, I was certain that I would last 2 minutes out on the reef before freaking out and coming back.  Instead, I was out there for the duration feeling more at ease than I ever have in the water. Had an amazing time with Honest Eco! My dad and I took the afternoon Dolphin Watching + Snorkeling + Sand Bar tour on board the SQUID with Captain Mo and Charlie. I grew up with a bunch of reef aquariums, so it was a real treat to go snorkeling with Charlie, a marine biologist, as our guide. Super knowledgeable, great at pointing out fish and birds and sharing interesting facts. While snorkeling we saw blue tangs, juvenile and adult gray angelfish, butterflyfish, grunts, hogfish, porkfish, grouper, parrotfish, coral, sponges, and we got to hold a sea hare and sea urchin. Smalls and Hadden were amazing. Both are so personable, knowledgeable and professional. Their attention to safety and preservation of the reef is so admirable. We saw sting rays, nurse sharks, parrot fish, groupers, starfish and so much more!! I went by myself and had such a wonderful time. Everyone was so friendly. Fun experience. I went with a group of friends on a day trip to the Keys and can definitely say it was everyone’s highlight of the day. We got to see the dolphins and while snorkeling we saw sharks, stingrays, barracudas, and plenty of different types of fish. This was my first time snorkeling and it was an awesome experience! We got to see dolphins from the boat and then went on to a thousand year old coral reef where we found tons of fish and also a huge Turtle! It was an all girls crew with Captain Alexa and our Guide Claire who came out with us in the water and made sure we were comfortable and made it known that help was available if needed. We had $100 off through Air Bnb & that made it even better. A total of 8 people on our boat made a great experience and not to over crowded. Our Snorkel+Sandbar Sunset cruise was a fantastic way to spend an afternoon. If you're looking for a snorkel trip with a smaller group of passengers and isn’t just a party barge, this is the trip for you. They do allow your own beverages on board, so you can definitely have some beers if you want them.  It was a relaxing ride with knowledgeable staff (Smalls, Sarah, and JP) and great snacks. They took us on a unique snorkel trip where we saw sting rays and permit. They helped guide passengers of our trip to areas of the reef where they were most likely to encounter wildlife that those passengers were most interested in seeing. Our group was 4 adults and 3 kids, ages 9–11, and it was truly a highlight of our trip to Key West. Everyone had an amazing time. Captain Dan and First Mate Haddon were absolutely incredible. They were warm, attentive, knowledgeable, and made the whole experience feel easy and special from start to finish. They were so great with both the adults and the kids, and you could really tell how much they care about what they do. This was my best snorkeling experience ever and my first dolphin encounter. Libby and Charlie ( our hosts) were super knowledgeable about marine life and i felt like I was talking to a professor because I asked a million questions to further understanding of dolphins and they satisfied my curiosity. This tour is the real deal and we got see everything that they advertised and more. It got the point that I had enough of watching the dolphins and I was wishing to move on… and we did and then we got to see more kool fishes really close- Goliath groupers, sting rays, barracudas, and the infamous…. Easily the most well rounded tour in Key West! Captain Mo and Sara were the bomb.com!!!! I have done a load of snorkeling in my day and this was such a great, well rounded experience. Captain was so willing to explain her process and what she looks for when scouting for animals. Sara was so sweet and fun! Spotted eagle rays, dolphins, sting rays, barracuda, and (my personal favorite) a bonnet head shark!!! Sandbar was super fun! Next time, we’ll for sure bring some beverages and perhaps a lil float to enjoy. Would 100% do this exact tour again in the future! If you only have time or money for one boating excursion, absolutely pick this one. Small business, eco conscious, well rounded, and well run! Worth every cent Let me just start off my saying if you’re goal is to see as many sea creatures as possible and be out on the water for along time this is the tour to go on. There was only about 15 people in our group. Charlie and Libbie both were super knowledgeable and willing to answer everyone’s questions. We went to few different area. One area was to see dolphins. We ended up seeing so many. They came right up to the boat. Then we traveled over to an area to snorkel. Charlie got off the boat and led us around the reef. We were fortunate to snorkel with sting rays, massive grouper fish, multiple nurse sharks, and even a lemon shark. The last place we stopped at was a sand bar and we were able to spend some time of the boat swimming around in super shallow water. It was nice because it is the height of sargassum season rn so most of the beaches aren’t great and the smell can be overbearing. On the way back in we were able to see a turtle as well. It was truly an amazing time. Honest eco is one of the smaller tour companies in Key West. I’m all about sharing the love with the smaller local companies that are trying to thrive on the island and it is was worth every cent. Worth your time and money Key West adventure Sav and Smalls, our guide and captain, are personable and knowledgeable about our sea life. Smalls found a sea biscuit he shared with those on the sandbar. Sav passed around veges and hummus, fruit during the boating. I had not snorkeled before but was able to watch and breathe under water without leaking or fogging of mask. Waters were clear. Best day in Key West An incredible four hours on the beautiful Key West waters with two amazing crew. We saw over 20 dolphins and baby dolphins. The snorkel portion at an incredible reef included seeing a loggerhead turtle, shark and many other tropical fish. And the last stop at a beautiful sand bar was complete with Sav serving us fresh fruit while we relaxed on the sandbar. Don’t miss this tour. It was true to its HonestEco name. Great crew and tour! We had a wonderful outing! Christina and Heather were our captain and first mate. They did an amazing job! They were friendly and informative. We got to get up close to about 20 dolphins who swam all around the boat! We had a great time snorkeling and even had a surprise stop at the end to swim at a sandbar. Great Family Excursion while in Key West! We had an amazing time and forged wonderful memories on this bout tour. Loved getting out into the crystal clear waters where we saw dolphins, snorkeled to see variegated corals, colorful fish, and even a few nurse sharks. The hospitality of Charlie and Capt. Fantastic experience! We were so glad we booked with Honest Eco- I would recommend this tour to anyone! We had a great morning at the “dolphin playground,” snorkeling and sand bar- packed so much into 4 hours. Small group (about 12 people), delicious snacks, and so much great education from our captains Charlie and Libby! I am not a very confident swimmer, but I felt very safe- Charlie was in the water with us the whole time, we had signals to communicate as a group, and you can hitch a ride on the floatie if needed. With a little practice I was keeping up with everyone :) Walking along the pier we saw plenty of advertisements for snorkel trips that were booze cruises in disguise! Excellent snorkeling and sunset cruise with Honest Eco Our party of four had an amazing time on the snorkeling and sunset tour with Honest Eco Tours in Key West! It was easily one of the highlights of our week-long vacation. Captain Victor and First Mate Savannah were personable, incredibly knowledgeable, and a lot of fun. They took us to some fantastic snorkeling locations, including a sponge reef and part of the barrier reef, where we saw an incredible variety of marine life—stingrays, nurse sharks, rainbow parrotfish, and so much more. The snorkeling equipment was high quality and comfortable, which made the experience even more enjoyable. One thing we especially appreciated was how committed the crew was to protecting the marine environment. Before we entered the water, they coached everyone on how to snorkel responsibly and avoid disturbing the reefs and marine life. It was clear they genuinely care about preserving this beautiful ecosystem for future visitors. They also anchored at a sandbar for about 30 minutes, giving us extra time to swim and explore. We found starfish, sea urchins, and several other fascinating sea creatures in the shallow water. The crew provided fresh fruit, vegetables, and ice water throughout the trip, and we were welcome to bring our own snacks as well. As the sun began to set, Savannah thoughtfully offered to take photos of each family and group on board. Those pictures are memories we'll treasure for years to come. If you're looking for a unique, small-group snorkeling adventure with a beautiful Key West sunset, I can't recommend Honest Eco Tours enough. I loved the fact that boat wasn’t crammed! Sara was absolutely amazing sharing all her knowledge from the keys. The fruit and veggie tray they make up for you was amazing you have to try the hummus. I was little emotional we didn’t get to get close to a dolphin but we did at least encounter 1 I completely understand that his company don’t feed the dolphins or bother there habit I would much rather that then us bother them in there home. Snorkeling I was completely terrified at first but I got over my fears and DID IT!! Sara was amazing because I started to doubt myself little bit once out and about snorkeling but Sara could tell I needed help without asking she swam over to me and let me relax on a floaty thing and restored me how to use my snorkel without her I would have given up a lot sooner so from the bottom of my heart thank you for that. This was our second time booking with Hinwst Eco on our 2nd trip to Key West and again the experience did not disappoint. If you go to Key West you must book a trip with them. We had an amazing time. First the snorkeling is wonderful and the captain and first mate took excellent care of us. Made sure we were safe and had a pointed out fish and beat parts to look. Capt. Alexa with Mates Heather and Sarah led us on an amazing adventure kayaking the mangroves and snorkeling on the reef.  The ladies were so professional and knowledgeable about all that we did and saw.  I felt completely at ease on this trip. We saw so many fish, turtles, and birds.  There was ice cold water and wonderful fresh snacks on the trip. My husband and I are in our mid-60s and had no problem with kayaking or snorkeling. What a beautiful trip. Lovely hosts and captain took us to a beautiful trip through the water for dolphin spotting. not only did we get to see the Dolphins. A few of the Dolphins even came to give us a big welcome. We also went for snorkeling after dolphin watching, and we were able to spot a lot of fishes and corals and everything that keys is famous for the hosts were great and we would recommend them any day. I took the guided kayaking and snorkel tour - it was unlike (in a good way) any other water tour I've taken in Key West. Dan and Jackie were an outstanding crew, they kept it light, fun, and safe. The kayak tour amongst the mangroves (you actually paddle into them!) was super informative and interesting. The snorkeling portion was not at a dying reef (typical of most Key West  snorkeling trips), but at the Key West National Wildlife Refuge where Jackie pointed out live sponges, lobsters, and fish. While on the boat, we were served fresh pineapple, carrots, cucumbers, and delicious hummus. Honest Eco is genuinely concerned about the environment, they are a top notch operation. We had such a wonderful time on the Dolphin Watch & Guided Snorkel! Captain Kristen and Heather were absolutely fantastic — knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely attentive. They made sure every snorkeler felt comfortable, no matter their experience level, and gave helpful guidance throughout. The water wasn’t very clear at the snorkel spot the day we went, but we still enjoyed being in the water and appreciated the calm, relaxed pace. The snacks were perfect — fresh, healthy, and thoughtfully offered just when we needed them. And we really loved how dedicated they were to making sure we saw dolphins. They didn’t give up until we got an amazing view of them in their natural environment, which was such a highlight. We had a great time on the boat and with the crew. They were welcoming and warm. They spent extra making sure that we got to see the dolphins as they were harder to find following some winds and nearby storms earlier in the week. Loved the food and impressed with the knife work on rough waters. I had an amazing trip with Captain Rachel and Bryan. My father and I signed up for the Dolphin watch and guided snorkel, it was so fun! We spent the first half of the trip looking for dolphins and I'm happy to say that nature cooperated and we got to see a few pods with babies and a sea turtle. Then we went to an amazing snorkel spot where Bryan guided everyone and made sure that we all got so see some amazing wildlife up close and personal. They provided lots of water, veggies and hummus and a fruit platter. Bryan is super engaging and knowledgeable about Key West flora and fauna and Captain Rachel took great care of us on the water. Had a really fun afternoon boat tour where we saw dolphins and snorkeled. Brian and Wade were excellent guides. I had booked a tour involving kayaking in the mangroves (in addition to snorkeling) and they cancelled the kayak portion due to wind. The company communicated with me promptly and gave me the option to back out if the lack or kayak was a dealbreaker for me. They also refunded me the difference in price between the more expensive kayak trip and the more basic trip. The snorkel equipment was quality, and I really appreciated the wet suit and floatation band to make it easier. We did the dolphin watch and snorkeling trip with Brian and Wade. Both were friendly and knowledgeable. We chose Honest Eco because we wanted to be on a smaller boat and we weren't disappointed. We went out for the dolphin and snorkeling tour and it was so fun! We saw tons of dolphins. They had fresh fruit and vegetables for us to snack on throughout the day. Wade and Heather have really cool boating experiences and shared a lot of interesting info with us. My friend and I had a wonderful time on the ECO tour. I live in Key West and I feel like I'm so glad I discovered this option for getting out on the water. We really appreciated the knowledge of the crew on the wildlife, as well as the sustainable materials used for lunch and snacks.  They serve all organic foods from Date and Thyme! My family of four had a spectacular afternoon with the Honest Eco team aboard the catamaran. Our group saw a large pod of dolphins and had a blast watching them frolic in the serene waters off of Key West. Next, we had a chance to snorkel which was honestly not quite as great as I had hoped. The area had some sunk structures with lobsters, but it wasn't the most beautiful area for diving. Still, they equipped us well and we made the most of what we had. The crew was really exceptional. Christine was our host and worked hard to share information and make sure everyone was having a great time. They fed us with fresh veggies and fruit and had water in reusable containers at the ready. The highlight for me was the cruise into port at sunset. While the masses crowded onto Mallory Square we coasted through and enjoyed the spectacular view from the water. It was breathtaking! Great family run company! They take the time to make sure their reminder emails are timely and concise (and they reply back to you!), their rates are great, their on board refreshments of fruits and veggies hit the spot, and their staff is incredible!! We went on their dolphin watch and snorkel tour with Erik and Bryan. It was my first time snorkeling, and they were both patient and encouraging - and made it an unforgettable experience. The company advertisement reported an organic lunch from Date and Thyme. It was fresh cut veggies with parsley hummus and fresh fruit. The boat mate was very knowledgeable and actually got into the water and showed us all kinds of fish. The captain was pleasant and knowledgeable also. The Blue Q was an older vessel but a catamaran with stairs to exit for snorkeling not ladder which is better for seniors. Advertised dolphin viewing but just saw a couple fins. If you want to take a super laid back small group snorkeling and dolphin way trip HC Squid is awesome.  Knowledgeable attentive crew meets all your needs.   The squid is the first all electric USCG inspected vessel.  Fruit and vegetable snacks and water provided.  Very great trip!
