Mangrove Tree Crabs spend most of their time on the trunks and branches of mangrove trees…. but they can’t breathe air.

Periodically you will see the Mangrove Tree Crabs descend to the water where they must wet their gills to allow oxygen to diffuse out of the water and into their blood stream.
